Roland unveils GO:MIXER STUDIO and Roland Cloud CR-78 Software Rhythm Composer

Roland has unveiled an exciting lineup of new products and updates that cater to the needs of musicians, DJs, and music producers. Leading the charge is the launch of the GO:MIXER STUDIO, a versatile audio mixer and recording interface tailored for mobile production and performance video creation. Additionally, the company has introduced the CR-78 Software Rhythm Composer.

Introducing GO:MIXER STUDIO

The GO:MIXER STUDIO is a compact yet powerful audio mixer and interface designed for seamless integration with iPhone, iPad, and both macOS and Windows systems. This portable device boasts 12 input channels and six outputs, allowing for high-quality recording at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. With 16 scene memories, users can easily store and recall complete mixer setups, making it ideal for live performances, video production, and on-the-go recording.

Key features include:

  • Two XLR mic/line inputs with high-quality mic preamps
  • A dedicated guitar/bass input
  • Stereo quarter-inch inputs for instruments like keyboards and electronic drums
  • Auxiliary stereo input with TRRS support for mobile devices
  • Monitoring options with both quarter-inch and mini headphone outputs
  • Two quarter-inch line outputs for external speaker or PA system connection

Onboard processing capabilities include a three-band EQ, compression, and reverb, all modeled after professional studio processors. These effects can be utilized during recording or solely for monitoring purposes. Powering the device can be done through a connected mobile device, an external adapter, or a USB battery.

The GO:MIXER Cam app for iOS allows for multitrack audio recording alongside video, while the GO:MIXER Editor for macOS and Windows offers comprehensive parameter access and session management on a larger screen.

Reviving the CR-78 Software Rhythm Composer

In addition to hardware innovations, Roland has launched the CR-78 Software Rhythm Composer for Roland Cloud. This software pays homage to the iconic CR-78 CompuRhythm from 1978, utilizing Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology to faithfully recreate the vintage drum machine’s sound. Modern enhancements include DAW synchronization, drag-and-drop audio and MIDI functionality, expanded pattern editing, and detailed mixing controls.

Users can also switch between various visual skins that reflect different iterations of the original hardware.

Pricing and Availability

The GO:MIXER STUDIO is now available for $299 / 279€.

The CR-78 Software Rhythm Composer can be accessed via Roland Cloud Ultimate or purchased as a Lifetime Key, with an introductory price of $49 / 49€ until February 28, 2026 (regular price $199 / 169€).
