Funk Avy is Manila's top Dj/Producer/Remixer and branded as Philippines King of Mash-Up & Electro. He started honing his skills at the legendary Kemistry in Malate and later became the resident Dj in Club Centro (Libis) and Club Halo (Makati) spinning house to techno, playing live electronica, mixing effects into his sets, incorporating samples, drum machines and the art of turntablism. His “We Lo...ve Manila” E.P. was signed by French label Fusion Recordings in 2005, making him one of the first Filipinos to be signed by a foreign record label.
His original productions have come out in several compilations released internationally such as Fashion TV Winter Session 05/06, Fashion House and the Best of Mega Techno. Funk Avy's recent release under Fusion Recordings France is a remix of French dj/producer Da Fresh's new track "Broken Dream" and is now available worldwide. To add to his numerous achievements, Funk Avy has played opening sets for top international Djs like Laidback Luke, Bad Boy Bill, Sandy Rivera a.k.a Kings of Tomorrow, Michael Gray, Mark Doyle & Kevin Saunderson.
Locally, he has worked with & remixed popular artists like Kjwan, Pedicab, Amber Davis, Sinosikat, Taken by Cars, Chino David, Project 1, Drip, Medwin Marfil of True Faith, Radha, Rico Blanco and many more. Funk Avy also penetrated television being the resident dj of GMA 7's Sunday noontime show Party Pilipinas. You can catch him every Wednesday in Republiq & Izakaya, Fridays at Limbo, once every month in Penthouse & Veranda, Cebu & Club STARR in Davao.
